137th theater season of the N. Pogodin Drama Theater

The new theater season was opened at the N. Pogodin Regional Drama Theater.

The 137th theater season has kicked off at the N. Pogodin Regional Russian Drama Theater. This event was eagerly anticipated by the residents of Petropavlovsk. The festivities began with a solemn tribute to the theater veterans, the true masters of the Pogodin stage. Then, an exciting concert program started, featuring theatrical karaoke prepared by the artists for the audience. Spectators had the opportunity to enjoy musical excerpts from their favorite performances.

The new theater season promises to be vibrant and memorable. Currently, the theater actors are preparing several new productions for the audience in North Kazakhstan.

Timur Karimzhanov, director and artistic director of the N. Pogodin Regional Russian Drama Theater:

«We will have a directorial laboratory in collaboration with the STD of Russia. Three Moscow directors will come to stage three plays. This year, the theme of the directorial laboratory is ‘Modern Comedy’. After that, we will have the long-awaited premiere of Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Cherry Orchard’. And by the New Year, we will have a new fairy tale ‘The Golden Key’. These are our plans.»

In November, actors from the regional drama theater will participate in the international festival of plays about love called «Encounters on Theatre Street,» which will take place in Ryazan. There, the artists will present to the audience the play «Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu» — an ancient legend about tragic love.
