The Grateful Crane

Venue: Regional Puppet Theatre
Lighting Designer: Aleksey Melentyev
About love and betrayal, generosity and greed. This poignant story tells of a crane maiden who, as a sign of gratitude for being saved, weaves many wonderful, beautiful, and precious fabrics from her own feathers. However, her savior proves incapable of valuing human kindness and self-sacrifice. Betrayed by someone close to her, she leaves the world of humans forever. The audience is presented with a genre rarely used in puppet theatre — tragedy.
